Sacred Heart School is excited to announce Summer Enrichment 2025
SHS Eco-Chargers (The Summer of Sustainability).
SHS Eco-Chargers summer program offers a diverse range of engaging and hands-on experiences focused on environmental stewardship. This year's camp features activities such as building eco-friendly water filtration systems, exploring local ecosystems, creating upcycled art, and learning about sustainable gardening. Campers will discover practical ways to protect our planet. Join us for a summer of discovery, creativity, and impactful learning as we empower the next generation of Eco-Chargers!
Our Eco - Charger camp is for students enrolled in grades Pre-K through 8th grade. We will be holding sessions during the weeks of July 7th and July 14th, Monday through Friday from 9am-12pm.
Read below to learn more about the exciting curriculum we are offering. Our summer enrichment camp is open to all students grades Prek3- 8th grade. New this year, all campers will receive a SHS Eco-Charger T-Shirt.
*Students NOT enrolled in Sacred Heart School will be charged $100 a week.
**Camps will be capped at 20 students per camp.
Little Planet Protectors
July 7th-11th/ 9-12pm
Students entering Pre-K 3 through Kindergarten

Little Planet Protectors summer camp invites preschoolers to become stewards of the Earth! Through exciting nature scavenger hunts, campers will explore the wonders of the outdoors while learning about the importance of protecting our planet. Creative, Earth-themed crafts will reinforce these lessons, allowing children to express their love for nature and discover ways to care for it. Little Planet Protectors offers a fun and engaging way for young children to connect with the environment and develop a lifelong appreciation for our planet.
Bug Buddies and Garden Friends

Bug Buddies and Garden Friends summer camp offers preschoolers a fun and educational introduction to the natural world. Campers will discover that not all bugs are creepy crawlies – some are helpful friends! Through worm observation, hands-on flower planting, and nature-themed crafts, children will learn about the important roles insects and other critters play in our gardens and ecosystems. Little learners will get their hands dirty, explore the outdoors, and develop a love for nature's tiny helpers in this exciting and engaging camp experience.
Math Makeover
July 7th-11th/ 9-12pm

Explore mathematical concepts through art and crafts with a catch…we will only be using recycled materials! Students will review topics such as geometry, measurement, addition and subtraction through various art projects like sculpture, painting, drawing and more! Each day will be a topic review with hands-on activities to explore and challenge students in all areas of math! Dress to get messy!
Literacy Through the 3 R’s

We all know Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, but we are talking about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Students will explore reading and writing strategies through fiction and non-fiction texts exploring ideas on how to create a sustainable and green environment. We will learn about plants, animals, recycling, and taking care of God’s Earth through the use of books and activities!
Giving Gardeners Camp
July 7th-11th and July 14th-18th/ 9am-12pm

***Cost: $175 for two week camp
Campers in grades 5-8 are invited on a two-week sustainable gardening adventure! Campers will research, plan, design, and build Sacred Heart School's first official sustainable garden. Week one focuses on research, planning, and design, while week two is all about building, planting, watering, and decorating. This service project continues into the 2025-26 school year, with campers returning to harvest and supply the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Ready, Set, Grow!
Please note: The cost of this two week camp is $175. This price covers the camp activities as well as the cost of necessary supplies.
Sustainable Stewards

Students will undertake a hands-on approach to understanding the importance of the environment, biodiversity, ecosystems, and sustainable development. Throughout the camp, students will model ecosystems, explore the biodiversity on our school's campus, create a simple water filtration system using natural and recycled materials, learn about high yield sustainable planting, and design a city using sustainable practices learned during camp.

Students will work on both 2D and 3D art projects inspired by our “Recycled Art” theme in various mediums which may include painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed-media. Each student should have a 9” x 12” spiral bound sketchbook. All other supplies will be provided.
Students in grades 1-6 will become eco-artists exploring nature, gathering materials, and transforming them into amazing art. They will learn the magic of upcycling and turn trash into treasured designs, sculptures, paintings and crafts. Campers will express their creativity enjoying a summer of artistic expression and environmental awareness.

In our tech-saturated world, it's easy to lose touch with the natural problem-solving skills we all possess. This summer, unplug and reconnect with your inner innovator at our eco-conscious "Unplug & Discover" camp! We'll ditch the screens and dive into a world of hands-on challenges, mind-bending puzzles, and collaborative activities that celebrate resourcefulness and ingenuity. Using resources like "Difficult Riddles for Smart Kids," "Brain Games: Who Done It?", "Perfectly Logical," and Sudoku, we'll hone our critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills—essential tools for building a sustainable future. Join us as we discover the power of unplugging and explore the endless possibilities of creative, screen-free learning!
