Mrs. Feeney welcomes you!
My mission is to transform the classroom into a creative workshop for students to develop new skills and collaborate with one another. Since starting here at Sacred Heart, I have been very impressed with the culture, loving climate, and eagerness to learn that both the students and staff have displayed.
It brings me great joy to watch students learn new concepts and especially to increase their ability to read fluently. Most importantly, I get to witness the students grow in their loving relationship with God.
Thank you for entrusting me with the educational welfare of your children. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
Please check back to our website periodically to see what new and exciting things are going on in room 204!
Dear Parents,
Your child should be able to read at least four second grade level (or above) books, per month (200 pages total). The books should contain about 50 pages or more. Books can be read at school and at home. Please help them enjoy reading and become life long readers!
Your second grade student has the responsibility to copy down their homework every day. A weekly homework sheet is provided in their Take Home folder. The daily homework is listed on the front chalkboard every morning. Time is given during our morning meeting to complete this requirement.
Monday: Computers & Art
Tuesday: Spanish
Wednesday: Gym
Thursday: Gym & Music
Friday: Library

Dear Parents,
Hello and welcome to Sacred Heart School. I am Mrs. Feeney, your child’s 2nd grade teacher. I am eager to meet you and your child soon! I am writing to explain how to organize the supplies needed for each student to begin this school year prepared and ready to learn. (I hope you can get your shopping done before the last minute rush:)
After your purchasing is completed, please take out of the packaging any items which need opening. (glue sticks, scissors, red pens, dry erase markers, etc.)
The following items go into the soft pencil case.
A hard case will not fit in the desk in between the stacks of books.
3 sharpened pencils, 1 red pen, 1 pink eraser, scissors, 1 glue stick, and a small box of crayons.
The rest of the required supplies will be kept in the plastic shoe box which you have purchased. Items such as markers, extra crayons, extra pencils, index cards, etc. can be put into that box and brought to our classroom on the first day of school.
Notebooks ~ please use a permanent marker to label each with your child’s first and last name and the following “subjects”. One notebook will be labeled DICTATION, the next will be JOURNAL, and the last EXTRA.
Folders ~ On the front of each folder, in permanent marker, please label each with your child’s first and last name, and the following “subjects”.
1st - TAKE HOME, 2nd - LATER, 3rd - SAVE, 4th - EXTRA.
Thanks so much for helping to get your child ready for the new school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Feeney
