The Sacred Heart School Library has a collection of over 5000 volumes, audiovisual materials, and computer software. The library surpasses the guidelines established by the NJ Department of Education and is equipped with a computerized card catalog and circulation network.
All students are scheduled each week for a library period. Students from first grade through eighth grade are encouraged to check out books. There is a fine structure in place for overdue materials borrowed from the library. A student with any overdue material loses borrowing privileges until the missing item is returned and the fine is paid in full. A student is not assessed overdue fines if the item is overdue because of absence.
Lost books must be paid for before additional books may be checked out of the library. Students are responsible for bearing the costs for replacing/repairing any damaged library book.
Summer 2010
Please return all books as soon as possible for summer recess.
Summer reading lists will be distributed to each student along with report cards at the end of the school year. Copies of the lists have been provided to the Burlington County Library as well as Barnes & Noble and Borders bookstores.
Please visit again in the Fall for more information about our next book fair which will be held on October 4th-8th. If you are interested in volunteering for the book fair please e-mail me at the address below so that I can forward your information on to the chairperson.
Have a wonderful summer vacation and don't forget to enjoy a good book!
See you in September!
Mrs. Colleen Martin
