The Sacred Heart School Library has a collection of over 5000 volumes, audiovisual materials, and computer software. The library surpasses the guidelines established by the NJ Department of Education and is equipped with a computerized card catalog and circulation network.
All students are scheduled each week for a library period. Students from first grade through eighth grade are encouraged to check out books. There is a fine structure in place for overdue materials borrowed from the library. A student with any overdue material loses borrowing privileges until the missing item is returned and the fine is paid in full. A student is not assessed overdue fines if the item is overdue because of absence.
Lost books must be paid for before additional books may be checked out of the library. Students are responsible for bearing the costs for replacing/repairing any damaged library book.
Fall/Winter 2011
Thanks to all who participated and supported the fall book fair. The fair was a success and the children will continue to benefit from the new literature for many years to come.
The "One for Books" program went very well. We collected over $95.00 in donations that Scholastic will match!! Over 95 children will receive books from the toys for tots program due to your generosity. THANK YOU!
Please join us again for our spring book fair April 23rd-27th.
